Hotel one minute walk from Market Street, offers tastefully decorated rooms with good value for money

The Mosser Hotel is housed in a handsome 1913 Victorian building just a minute's walk from Market Street, between the Financial District and SoMa. It's one of the most affordable hotels in the area, with carefully and harmoniously decorated rooms. Not all rooms are very spacious, and bathrooms can be shared, depending on price. The whole place is very well kept, and the number of rooms is small. You can dine at The Harlequin, a fine Californian restaurant.

Rooms are fine. Clean and simple. No AC, but the windows open to a nice cross-breeze. The staff was super friendly. The location is super nice and central. No real complaints other than the lights in the room are a little weird. There's a central overhead light with a fan and a couple small floor lamps. The problem is that with the overhead light on its too bright but with just the floor lights on it's much too dim. It's a solid 3.5-4.0 stars.

Great location. Rooms are a little small, the sink is very small, not unusable but if you are a tall, bigger person this might be a problem. The room is clean and comfortable. Beds could have better mattresses but they are not uncomfortable. Ventilation in the room is complicated, I would avoid staying during the summer. The service was impecable with great communication and free coffee in the mornings. It’s a little pricy compared with other hotels a few blocks away, but if location is a priority, The Mosser is the best choice.

I was on the 5th floor. My window was facing all the nice stores and Marriot Marquis. I had a very nove night. I'll go back again.

Before arriving I read the reviews and was very nervous due to mixed reviews and bad views, I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised.

Service:
We arrived around shortly after midnight and there was someone there to let us in and immediately get us checked in. He was very friendly and gave us advice on where to go and the areas to avoid.

Location:
The location was more than ideal for us as a couple being on vacation and not renting a car. There was target that is two minutes from the hotel and a trader joes right next door. Starbucks in a very close proximity too. There is multiple bus stops and a metro station less than three minutes away which was very convenient as that was our modes of transportation.

Room:
We had the deluxe full room. It was very small but that is typical in a big city. There was no AC but the ceiling fan did wonders and we slept with the windows open for all five nights we stayed. The one thing I will say which was very disappointing was no mini fridge in the room or access to a microwave. The water station was located in the basement which was very inconvenient, hot and had lots of flies down there. Also there is only ice machines located on the second and fifth floors which was also really annoying sometimes. There is only one hotel in the elevator but we did not run into any problems with it taking forever or getting backed up. We hardly ran into people on the elevator. We were on the 6th floor so most times we would try to take the stairs since we are on the younger side. This room definitely gets the job done if you're trying to find a convenient and cheaper hotel for a vacation on a budget. We didn't spend too much time here as we often were out exploring, leaving early and coming back late but the time we spent here was nice and we ran into no issues.

*The front door is also locked and the only people who are allowed access is guest which is very reassuring as there is lots of homeless people sleeping outside on the streets right outside the hotel. Being a young women it made me feel safe knowing not anyone can get in there.
