Hotel located one block from the Alamo Square, offering prices that sometimes defy all competition

A nice little address, especially for its unbeatable prices. The most basic rooms, however, are dark, without views and small, with a shared bathroom... you've been warned, but at this price you won't find anything else. Those facing the street are brighter, but also noisier. All in all, however, the rooms are well kept. The establishment is very well located, one block from Alamo Square in Hayes Valley.

The Casa Loma hotel is a great hotel to stay at if you're on a budget I stayed in a Twin Deluxe room for 1 week and cost me 643 dollars that was early April they do have cheaper rooms without a bathroom if you're on a really tight budget, also on arrival you will be charged a 60 dollar deposit per room,my room was nicely kept and was clean although the rooms are basic hence it's a budget hotel, nicely located as well not far from Alamo Square and Haight Street where you can find a variety of places to eat and drink in,turn left when leaving the hotel and Haight street is about a 15 minute walk one place to drink in was the Molotov bar where beer on draft is 7 dollars and bottled beer 5 or 6 dollars and from 3pm to 7pm is happy hour where its 1 dollar of the usual price, looks a bit dingy inside but it's ok for a few drinks, actually quite nice, and one other thing is they ONLY EXEPT CASH no cards but there's a cash machine on the premises,so if you're looking for a hotel at a reasonable price I'd choose the Casa Loma my second stay here, staff are friendly and helpful too, just one other thing to mention is the hotel does not have a lift so if you can't do stairs it won't be for you????.

You definitely get what you pay for. Don't spend 50$ on a hotel if you don't want bugs, possibly dirty sheets, and to live in fear.

Oh my gosh, please do not let anyone else stay here and stay away!! This place deserves to go back to the dinosaur age.
It started out ok, old and no elevator when I dropped my luggage off with the guy. I came back in the evening, the hostess was extremely rude and muttering offensive words under her breath. Mega disgruntled, she tried to first put me in a lower priced room than I paid for which had no working lights or bathroom.
The whole evening was really loud and I heard strange noises near the walls, I felt scared and very unsafe. No joke, my suitcase was blocking the door as much as possible as I heard loud banging sounds outside. I literally hot tailed it as quick as I could to an open coffee house at 5am the next morning to escape the place.

An excellent choice for anyone visiting San Francisco who wants to keep their budget under control. The price is very fair, the staff are very helpful - and agreed to hold onto my suitcase for several hours after checkout - and the location is absolutely fantastic, within walking distance of the Painted Ladies, some great diners, and good public transport links to key sightseeing locations.

The rooms are small, with no en-suite bathroom (and I couldn't find any controls for the automated aircon) but they have all the essentials, and I wasn't spending much time in my room anyway. It's San Francisco, you should be out and about! I'll definitely book here again if I return.
