If you want to try one of the most typical dishes in North America, stop by Smoking Pig BBQ. Their ribs are renowned throughout the city for being the best. The barbecue sauce that coats them is simply marvelous, and the whole thing is as fatty as it is unforgettable. But you'll also find delicious chicken burgers, bacon burgers, cheese burgers... A kind of fast-food like you find on every street corner, but of much higher quality. For meat aficionados only, of course.

Was in town for the Lions game and was walking somewhere else and it smelled so good I had to stop. Great pulled pork sandwich.

I loved this place! ❤️ The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch! Loved the brisket, beans and mac and cheese. We just happened by the place because it was open near us while we were driving around. When we said we hadn't been there before, the guy taking our order gave great recommendations and made sure we left with ALL the flavors of BBQ sauce. Because of him (and the food), I will definitely be going back.

This was not my first visit to this location, but it had been a number of years since then (pre-pandemic) and this was a far more disappointing experience. The dining room itself just looks sad and uninviting and the gender-neutral bathroom is a disaster. (I didn't go into the men's one so I can only guess at that one's state!) If I hadn't needed to use it so urgently, I would have walked right back out of it and skipped it.
The young woman who helped me order was nice, though I was disappointed that they didn't have any baked potatoes. Online info led me to believe they had them, but apparently only "Mondays before 2:00" (that would have been good information to have online, just saying). I ordered a brisket sandwich and I have to say the meat was delicious and plentiful. Far, far better than my last trip to Armadillo Willy's. They let you choose "lean, fatty or mixed;" I ordered mixed and it was indeed a mix. But the way it's slapped onto the really tasty bun made it hard to handle and awkward. Put on some BBQ sauce and it turns into a dripping mess. And the fries were not good. They have that potato-starch coating on them and no flavor (even though there appeared to be pepper on them, which I didn't appreciate.) I barely ate any of mine, so they were a disappointment. Considering the cost, the side should be a compliment and not a detraction. I plan to go back to try to score a baked potato, but not to this location. I'll go to one of the newer ones that isn't as sad.
