We stopped here for a sunset beverage and were very happy! Pie at the rooftop bar was a great bar tender, very pleasant and happy to answer any of our questions. The view was amazing and the sunset perfect along with the refreshing g&t’s.

Das Upendo House liegt mitten in der Altstadt von Stonetown. Es hat eine Dachterrasse mit einem schönen Blick auf den Indischen Ozean. Es ist im Verhältnis zum Gebotenen definitiv zu teuer. Wir waren zweimal dort (einmal eine Nacht, einmal zwei Nächte) Beim ersten Mal bekamen wir ein einfaches Zimmer statt des gebuchten Superior Zimmers ohne irgendeinen Ausgleich. Man versprach uns, dass wir beim nächsten Mal das gewünschte Superior Zimmer bekämen, was wieder nicht der Fall war. Das angebliche Superior Zimmer, was wir stattdessen bekamen, war klein und hatte einen "Balkon", den man nicht nutzen konnte. Das Frühstück war mäßig und der Preis für alles unangemessen extrem hoch. Upendo House ist keine Empfehlung.

Hotel liegt in der Altstadt, mit dem Taxi kommt man nicht bis dran, man muss mit den Koffern schon ein Stückchen gehen.

Empfang sehr freundlich.

Mit dem Zimmer sind wir allerdings nicht zufrieden:

-übertrieben laut (unmittelbar an einer Moschee)
-Badezimmertür hackt
-Dusche sieht unhygienisch aus
-kein TV
-"Fenster" im Bad kann man nicht schließen um den Lärm zu reduzieren
-kein Kleiderschrank
-Flecken auf 3 von 4 Kissen
-muffiger Geruch

Great location, excellent rooms and friendly service. The rooftop pool is a great place for a morning or a sunset swim, while the breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend.

We spent a couple days here and enjoyed this charming location: cosy rooms, excellent breakfast, awesome view at the rooftop and – over all – helpful, great people (such as Micky!) in service!

Went to visit this establishment roof top with my wife and 2 kids. Paid 26.00USD and was told that it included 4 drinks which was 2 cocktails for adults and soft drinks for my kids . My son accidentally broke a cocktail glass and was told by the bar man it’s ok and he eoukd replace the drink. Before we left we were asked to pay another 37080 Tanzanian shillings for the broken glass that my 7 year old child accidentally broke and the replacement for the cocktails. Never go there again because they are total thieves and trying to scam from white people more money. Stay away from this establishment when you stay at Zanzibar in Tanzania because you will be scammed

For your information there was no group as you claimed but only 2 kids aged 7 and 10 year old plus my wife and I. After my tour guide rang you the next day after 4-5 phone calls you decided to refund me back the $20,000 shillings as a bribe on the condition that I withdraw the truth of this review, but you never refunded me this money and now are taking advantage of 2 innocent kids and blackmail. You are as low as I have ever met a person. Resulting in scamming innocent people.

You should never serve cocktail close to the pool but in plastic glass so it does break I bought a cocktail nit a glass. Never ever go to this venue and avoid it at all costs

Stunning room, great location, amazing staff (especially Benjamin - nothing was too much trouble and always service with a smile), delicious food, lovely rooftop bar, would definitely recommend!

My fiancée, who is currently pregnant, and I recently booked a two-night stay at Upendo House, expecting a luxurious and comfortable experience as advertised. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met, leading us to cut our stay short.

Firstly, we were disheartened by the cleanliness of the rooms. The standards seemed to fall short of what one would expect from a luxury establishment. This aspect was particularly concerning given my fiancée's pregnancy, as we were seeking a safe and hygienic environment.

Additionally, the noise level within the building was continuously disruptive. This constant disturbance significantly detracted from the peaceful experience we hoped for.

A particularly challenging aspect was the early morning prayers conducted right outside our window at 5 am. The lack of soundproofing meant that our sleep was greatly affected.

While we understand that every guest's experience can vary, we felt it necessary to share our own. We hope that Upendo House takes this feedback into consideration to improve future guests' experiences.

Super lecker gegessen und eine sehr nette Crew dort. Man mzss durch dunkle, enge Gassen um dorthin zu kommen aber es lohnt sich unbedingt!
