It is one of the most important geological museums in Greece with 2,500 samples from Naxos, Greece and the rest of the world. Opened in 1964, it was closed in 1967 by the dictatorship of the colonels and reopened in 1987 by Manolis Glezos. A specialist in geology, he entrusted his personal collection to this museum, named in honour of a Greek Prime Minister from the village. The collection includes many pieces of emery and marble that made Naxos rich.
