In Venice, aperitif time starts around 7pm and goes on until 9pm. After dinner, you can enjoy a nightcap until 1 or 2am.

Night transport

There's nothing more romantic than crossing the illuminated Grand Canal at night aboard a vaporetto. The last boat passes around 11:30 pm, but the nocturnal N line takes over. All night long, it runs on a two-way loop from the Lido to strategic stops all along the Grand Canal, including Giudecca and San Zaccaria (actv.avmspa.it).

Age restrictions

As in France, the sale of alcohol to under-18s is prohibited.

What's very local

Generally speaking, Italians (and Venetians) like to dress to go out; their innate sense of elegance means that errors of taste are rare. Do as they do! Adapt your outfit according to where you're going to spend the evening: casual for a night out at the bar, dressier for a trip to the theater.
