We have just returned from a 3 night stay as a group of 3 friends. There are a lot of mixed reviews which may make it difficult for someone to know whether to book. I think the biggest complaint people raise is the noise. Yes, there is a live band in the bar underneath that play every night until 11pm. However, they did stop on time every night at 11pm. We actually enjoyed the music, we stayed in the quadruple room which sat directly above the bar and directly above the stage. So this I’m sure is the noisiest room. The music however was amazing and we felt like we had our own private show in our room! There is a fair bit of noise after 11pm of people leaving the bar and other bars in the area. So if you are a light sleeper it wouldn’t be for you, or take ear plugs. We all managed to sleep perfectly well and on our last night actually went to the bar to experience the music in person and it was a brilliant night!

Positives: Location location location! Could not have found a better hotel for getting around the city. Close to rainbow street and the church, close the the harbour, close to the 1st hop on hop off bus stop. Taxi can’t drive up to the hotel as someone mentioned but this is the case for many hotels. The taxi was able to stop a 30 second walk from the hotel so it is not an issue at all.
It’s the first time I’d stayed in a self check in hotel. Some people said they didn’t like this. However the hotel emailed extremely clear instructions on how to find the hotel and how to check in. We were in our room within 3-5 minutes of exiting the taxi. No queues to check in like other hotels which we loved. I was able to communicate quickly and easily via email with staff so it was no issue not having a reception at all.

We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but you are surrounded by hundreds of cafes, restaurants and bakery’s that it isn’t needed in my opinion but the option is there if you wanted it.

The room was HUGE! Three of us stayed in the quadruple room and we worried that by the time our bags and coats piled in we wouldn’t have much room to move but it is soo spacious and even with a forth person plus suitcase it wouldn’t have been an issue.
Nice clean comfy bed, lovely and warm. Kitchenette area with kettle microwave and fridge. Table and chairs. Very handy to save a bit of money and prepare breakfast/ lunch/ snacks for the day. Mini market literally across the street selling everything you could need!
Zero complaints and would stay here again in a heartbeat. I can see why other people wouldn’t recommend, but it was the perfect place to stay for a group of friends looking for a well priced but clean, comfy and central location.

No staff on any more. Could do with soundproofing. Some rooms very small.

I cannot recommend this place! The rooms were great but my god! The noise! Reykjavik is not that big, stay somewhere that isn't on the main street of bars - that's my advice!

SO NOISY ALL NIGHT LONG

Modern, clean, centralized rooms - stay was just before the busy season.
Street parking wasn't bad, but may be tough during peak season.
Coffee in the lobby.
Breakfast available for 20euro/pp, but there are plenty of small shops nearby for breakfast to save a little cash. (4 blocks away was Braud and Co. - hearty cinnamon buns!!)
Locked lobby door starting in the evening.
There is a hot tub and sauna if desired, but both are small (We didn't use them).
Cleaning services every morning.
Street side facing rooms were a little noisy, but not personally overwhelming.
(B. Brewery next door was great.... must try the cauliflower tacos!)
