We have just returned from a 3 night stay as a group of 3 friends. There are a lot of mixed reviews which may make it difficult for someone to know whether to book. I think the biggest complaint people raise is the noise. Yes, there is a live band in the bar underneath that play every night until 11pm. However, they did stop on time every night at 11pm. We actually enjoyed the music, we stayed in the quadruple room which sat directly above the bar and directly above the stage. So this I’m sure is the noisiest room. The music however was amazing and we felt like we had our own private show in our room! There is a fair bit of noise after 11pm of people leaving the bar and other bars in the area. So if you are a light sleeper it wouldn’t be for you, or take ear plugs. We all managed to sleep perfectly well and on our last night actually went to the bar to experience the music in person and it was a brilliant night!

Positives: Location location location! Could not have found a better hotel for getting around the city. Close to rainbow street and the church, close the the harbour, close to the 1st hop on hop off bus stop. Taxi can’t drive up to the hotel as someone mentioned but this is the case for many hotels. The taxi was able to stop a 30 second walk from the hotel so it is not an issue at all.
It’s the first time I’d stayed in a self check in hotel. Some people said they didn’t like this. However the hotel emailed extremely clear instructions on how to find the hotel and how to check in. We were in our room within 3-5 minutes of exiting the taxi. No queues to check in like other hotels which we loved. I was able to communicate quickly and easily via email with staff so it was no issue not having a reception at all.

We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but you are surrounded by hundreds of cafes, restaurants and bakery’s that it isn’t needed in my opinion but the option is there if you wanted it.

The room was HUGE! Three of us stayed in the quadruple room and we worried that by the time our bags and coats piled in we wouldn’t have much room to move but it is soo spacious and even with a forth person plus suitcase it wouldn’t have been an issue.
Nice clean comfy bed, lovely and warm. Kitchenette area with kettle microwave and fridge. Table and chairs. Very handy to save a bit of money and prepare breakfast/ lunch/ snacks for the day. Mini market literally across the street selling everything you could need!
Zero complaints and would stay here again in a heartbeat. I can see why other people wouldn’t recommend, but it was the perfect place to stay for a group of friends looking for a well priced but clean, comfy and central location.

No staff on any more. Could do with soundproofing. Some rooms very small.

I cannot recommend this place! The rooms were great but my god! The noise! Reykjavik is not that big, stay somewhere that isn't on the main street of bars - that's my advice!

SO NOISY ALL NIGHT LONG

Ubicación perfecta

Modern, clean, centralized rooms - stay was just before the busy season.
Street parking wasn't bad, but may be tough during peak season.
Coffee in the lobby.
Breakfast available for 20euro/pp, but there are plenty of small shops nearby for breakfast to save a little cash. (4 blocks away was Braud and Co. - hearty cinnamon buns!!)
Locked lobby door starting in the evening.
There is a hot tub and sauna if desired, but both are small (We didn't use them).
Cleaning services every morning.
Street side facing rooms were a little noisy, but not personally overwhelming.
(B. Brewery next door was great.... must try the cauliflower tacos!)

If you’re looking to get a balcony room it’s a brilliant view and certainly worth the money, we could see NL from our balcony and the room itself was well equipped and spacious. I do with the beds had actually double mattress les instead of attaching two single beds together because the gap in the middle made it slightly less comfortable but otherwise a good stay.

We stayed here for one night, but we had CERO rest. The bar below the hotel is really loud, you feel you are inside the bar because of the noise. At least the bar had good live music so i would definitely recommend going to the bar if you cant sleep ????

The rooms are good, we had our own bathroom and they were clean.
Location is 10/10

But with all the noise I would not recommend staying here if you are a light sleeper.

Really great location for visiting Reykjavik on foot and access to lots of bus tours. My biggest gripe was not recieving access codes before arriving (not sure if that is our operator fault or hotel). We got here at 2am, took a little while to find the place as not obvious in the dark and then took almost 15 minutes stood outside in the cold for someone to answer our call and let us in the building. I don't know if it was the language barrier but the phone answerer could not understand anything we said, but we understood her perfectly. We were then send the details of the wrong apartment to access. Luckily we noticed this before entering the room. It then took another 20mins to get someone on the phone again to get the correct access details (luckily we were inside at this point). A most odd experience at 2-3am after travelling for over 15 hours!! The room is ok. Our number is 306 and as we have a small kitchen area then toilet is located across the hall, it's a private toilet just for us but left me feeling vulnerable when having to go to the toilet in the night. On our second night (Saturday), after about 4 hours sleep and a long travel and a full on day we thought we'd have an earlier night, about 9pm but the bars below were noisy til well after 1am and plenty of noisy around us til after 2. The bed is 2 singles bolted together with 2 single duvets, which we had expected after reading other reviews. Everything is clean and tidy on arrival, and it is a 3 star hotel so I think everything would pass for that. We didn't eat here but chose to eat from the streets around us and there is plenty of choice within a 10 mins walk I'd say. We were here in winter (February) so note that lots of places don't open til 10am so if you have an early excursion, plan ahead or get the hotel breakfast. We wanted to come here for a relax and the lack of sleep has impacted that, we wouldn't choose this place again. Please note it's called room with a view but this is mostly of the hotels and other large buildings around us.

Great location, well equipped room with kitchenette. Clean and specious. Helpful staff.

Absolute disgrace! The telephone operator responsible for the self check in assistance gave me codes and access to two different rooms that were already occupied by other guests and furthermore acted impolite over the phone. Absolute no go in hospitality

for multiple reasons

Great location. The room was more basic than we expected. There was no kettle and the mattress was not good quality, I had a sore back after the first night.

Didn't get any sleep the second night we stayed as the fire alarm went off at 11pm and didn't stop for hours. No staff around on the premises, so when we contacted them they told us to check there was no fire and turn the alarm off. The alarm was faulty and wouldn't turn off until someone eventually came out.

The location is great it is right on the main shopping street, and the rooms are quite nice. The only issue for was for 3 nights, not a single day did the room get cleaned, even though it stated in their hotel policy that after 2 nights the room gets cleaned.

Before you book here, you should know there is no reception desk with staff.

Fire alarm went off at 11PM and continued for an hour plus.

It is not the responsibility of your guests to disable the fire alarm. "Make sure there is no fire"- isn't that the fire department's job?

La chambre était correcte, nous n’avons rencontré aucun problème.

Au niveau du bruit, je n’oserai pas imaginer me trouver dans une des chambres se trouvant au dessus du bar au vu du bruit.

Déception du petit déjeuner et du prix.

10 pm, 4th floor, and still can hear LOUDLY the noise from the live concert on the bar downstairs. Tea bags there but kettle missing. Bulb missing from one lamp. Avoid.

Great room in a amazing location. Close to gifts, pubs and restaurant. There's no free parking area, but they give us a information about the best way to park the car.
These apartments are magnificent, the service is worked here and the view of Reykjavik is breathtaking! I recommend it!
