LA CHEMISE FRANÇAISE
As its name suggests, La Chemise Française makes and manufactures shirts for men and women. Its products feature traditional cuts, exceptional fabric quality and a range of stunning patterns. Each shirt is entirely made in France, as attested by the label Origine France Garantie since 2012.
History. The son of a seamstress, Richard Préau, the creator of La Chemise Française, became interested in the textile industry late in life. After an internship with a London designer, he launched his brand, Grand Travers, in 2010, with a completely French production and sales only via the Internet. He then created La Chemise Française by focusing on classic and timeless cuts, top-of-the-range fabrics and limited editions. He also collaborates with the painter Patrice Murciano on a special series. The fabrics used come mainly from Italy, but also from Switzerland and France. As for the labels of the shirts, their manufacture is entrusted to the company JSD of Saint-Etienne. Finally, for the buttons, they come from La Boutonnerie Lyonnaise located, as its name suggests, in Lyon.
The products. The shirts are available in three collections: Business (business shirts made to measure), Rendez-vous (chic look with various motifs including the famous Liberty flowers) and Week-end (sportswear cut, to combine leisure and trendy touch). The French Shirt also offers a line of leather gloves made in the purest tradition of the Millau (Aveyron) glove.
