International Festival of Street Arts in Chalon
This is a privileged moment for the profession and the general public. On a daily basis, almost 100 000 people are coming to trample on the streets of the city, under the spotlight of the media, the European capital of street arts. In all, 450 companies have already been invited to official programming, the festival « In ». Add the hundreds of artists who came to join the party on their own. Over time, Chalon On the Street has learned to question : acting like a laboratory and a place of experience, favouring new directions, other places, encouraging novelty and creation. To support this action, the Abattoir was inaugurated in 1991. The former buildings of the Saône wharves have been reinvested to become " Local Art Arts Manufacturing". The initiative has brought together about ten people who are now working throughout the year at the next edition. The Abattoir also offers a roof to troops who regularly submit their work to the public during performances in small committees.
