Chalon-sur-Saône is a French commune located in the Saône-et-Loire department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. With a population of 45,094, it is the department's most populous city and the 4th most populous city in the region. Chalon-sur-Saône offers many places of interest to visit, such as the Musée Nicéphore Niépce, which features a collection of photographs and objects related to the history of photography, the Cathédrale Saint-Vincent, a magnificent religious building dating from the 12th century, the Musée Vivant Denon, which houses art and archaeology collections, and the Tour du Doyenné, an ancient medieval defense tower.
