EGLISE SAINT-MARTIN DE BESSE
Church among the architectural jewels of the Perigord, houses sculptures of great mastery
The church of Saint-Martin de Besse is one of the architectural jewels of the Périgord. Overlooking the village, its roofs of slates attract the eye. The building of the XIth century is especially remarkable by its historical portal with three arches surmounted by a rhombus. The sculptures are of great mastery and represent the seven deadly sins, the earthly paradise, the paschal lamb, a hunting scene, the Virgin and Child and Saint Michael slaying the dragon. Not to be missed!
