LE MOULIN DE L’ABBAYE
Gastronomic restaurant in Brantôme-en-Périgord.
Luxury and pleasure are the order of the day in this setting where nature plays its full role. A Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant adds to the value of this ivy-covered mill. The dining room, with its eight arched windows, is bathed in light, and the shaded waterside terrace, near the bent bridge over the Dronne, is romantic on summer evenings. The refined ambience of the salon is also worth a stroll. Products from the Périgord region always feature prominently on the menu, direct from local artisans and producers. Organic vegetables come from Saint-Astier and meat from Thiviers. On the Abbaye menu: mi-cuit of duck foie gras with Périgord walnuts and vanilla, roasted quince and grapefruit, melba bread; confit pork belly glazed with honey and ginger, summer vegetable risotto with basil; 10-hour baked golden apple served with brioche bread and raw cider sorbet.
