HOLLYWOOD EN PÉRIGORD
Is Highway 66 telling you something? Without a doubt, even if you've never put your feet on it. And Route 24 (registered trademark)? It's a joke? Absolutely not. The inhabitants of Castels and surrounding areas have known her all over the last few months, especially as the «Hollywood in Périgord» sign, reproduced in the same way as the true but on a reduced scale, is seen by far. You can't miss this antique store on the valley lane with its candy pink Chrysler planted front. Behind all this, two passionate people: Jean-Claude Pleau and Jean-Michel Tran Van already have an antique gallery in Saint-Cyprien. This time they collected articles and vintage furniture from the 50-60 s with collector coins purchased for most of their annual lifetimes in the USA and particularly in California: enameled plates, lamps, jukebox, petrol pumps, armchairs, not forgetting local derivatives. The clientele is very diverse but, like them, it is nostalgic for a long time… The treasures of the States arrive by containers at the port of Le Havre and then stored in this corner of the Black Périgord, to go out in lots… from EUR 10. The two antique dealers have participated in the decoration of the Jimmy's Bar in Sarlat, many of which come from home. Jean-Claude Pleau is also an artist in the soul. He paints paintings on the theme of NYC and the famous Mother Road… and both are even making products from their Route 24.
