Day 1: Cologne and the Rhine Valley

Your stay begins in Cologne, a thousand year old city and a major metropolis in the region. The city is unusual in that it has survived centuries and hardships. More than 90% of it was destroyed during the war, but it has always stood proudly, just like its inhabitants. In addition to the famous Cologne water for which the city is famous, you will find plenty to satisfy your passion for history. The cathedral of St. Peter and St. Mary (dating from Roman times, it is the jewel of the city) and the house of Cologne (how could you miss it!) are worth seeing

Cologne is the second largest city in the world for contemporary art galleries.
Day 3: Bonn
The capital ofGermany for almost 40 years, Bonn is a peaceful city where Beethoven was born. You can visit his birthplace as well as the last home of another famous composer: Robert Schumann. Don't miss: the Kunstmuseum and the Godesburg Castle (built in 1210, emblem of the Rhine romanticism)

Day 4: Koblenz

On the way down to Koblenz, not far from Andernach, stands the Abbey of Maria Laach, nestled in the forest around the Laacher See
Day 5: The Moselle Valley
At the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine, Koblenz is a pleasant student city, especially if the sky is clear! Go to the Deutsche Ek (a platform offering a superb panorama of the two rivers). There are several ways to reach Trier, in the heart of the beautiful Moselle Valley, where the most romantic way is by boat. Once you arrive in the charming Trier, you can taste the famous wines. The oldest city inGermany, Trier is also the birthplace of Marx, whose house you can visit. The oldest cathedral inGermany, founded in the year 320 by the Roman emperor Constantine, is located here.

Day 7: Mainz
Steps: Mayence
Just 120 km from Trier, Mainz is a destination of interest. Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and the inventor of the printing press, Gutenberg, lived in the city of the Electors, today the capital of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate
Day 8: Mainz
A must-see: Der Dom (cathedral) and Dom Museum (its museum). Of course, the Gutenberg Museum is located in the city center.
Day 9: Heidelberg

Before reaching the beautiful student city of Heidelberg, drive through Worms to visit its many Roman remains
Day 10: Heidelberg

Located on the banks of the Neckar, baroque Heidelberg was the muse of many poets. Clemens Brentano, Goethe and Victor Hugo found inspiration here. In spite of the many tourists who roam the city center, Heidelberg remains a must-see. Don't miss its huge and famous castle as well as the old university. Founded in 1386, it is the oldest university inGermany. We also suggest a delightful walk with the evocative name of "Philosopher's Path".

Day 11: Baden-Baden

A relatively mild climate, vineyards and green hills make Baden-Württemberg an excellent tourist destination. Your gateway to this region is the rich Baden-Baden. This city has attracted many crowned heads and remains today the most chic spa in Europe

Don't miss out on the pleasure of bathing (Friedrichsbad, Caracalla Thermen, Römische Bad-Ruinen). Several excursions are possible in the vicinity of Baden-Baden: Neuweier, Steinbach, Umweg are the wine regions (wine tasting possible). Also worth seeing: the castle of Rastatt, one of the oldest inGermany.

Stuttgart is the opposite of Baden-Baden, the modern city in all its splendor, but the city of Mercedes-Benz is worth a small detour, if only to see the Castle Square, probably the most beautiful inGermany

An ancient medieval city, located in the heart of the Black Forest, Freiburg has an exceptional historical heritage. Several buildings will catch your attention: Münster (cathedral), the Kaufhaus (merchants' house) as well as the Basler Hof (Basel court).

The beautiful and vast Lake Constance, with its cozy eponymous town on the Swiss-Austrian border, is a classic.

Once you have visited the island of Mainau, take the ferry to the village of Meersbug which is one of the most beautiful places on the lake. End your trip on the lake in Lindau, a symbol of romance for many people, and welcome to Bavaria!

After the Bavarian Alps, treat yourself to a relaxing day in the town of Starnberg. Located on the edge of the largest lake in the region (20 km long and 5 km wide), the panorama is simply fabulous!

On the way down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, stop in Oberammergau, one of the most beautiful villages in the Ammer Valley, which is famous for its wood carvers.
Day 27: Munich

Spend a whole day visiting the city. With about 50 museums, Munich is a must for the art lover as well as for the simple amateur. Ancient or modern art, the choice is yours! At the end of the day, don't forget to taste the famous beer of Munich, also famous for its beer festival which takes place every year at the end of September, beginning of October

Steps: Dachau
On the second day, we visit the infamous Dachau camp. The first concentration camp created by Himmler, where more than 30,000 prisoners perished in the antechambers of horror. Alternatively, you can take a trip to the beautiful Chiemsee lake, with the famous Ludwig II Herrenchiemsee castle, a miniature imitation of Versailles.
