Have a drink at the top to enjoy the view. On the way back, drive through the heart of theAnaga mountain range, enjoy the cool pine forest and the spectacular views from the ridge road to Santa Cruz. Once in the capital, dare to treat yourself to a good meal in this little tourist town, to get acquainted with the best of the Canarian gastronomy.

Tenerife

Rue à Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife.

Steps: Parc National Du Teide

Discover the Teide. Start by visiting the picturesque village of La Orotava, and then take the road from the village up to the entrance of El Portillo Park. On the way, stop at one of the many scenic restaurants that line the road. Inexpensive and very typical, they offer a view of the valley not to be missed. The ascent is marked by viewpoints and rocky features, you pass through the pine forest before reaching the summit, which is more pebbled. The road to the cable car passes through lunar landscapes. Then opt for the 2-hour walk to Roque de Garcia which makes a loop. Then take the Santiago road back down, a little before sunset to see the islands of La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera over a sea of clouds, and then you'll pass through your first lava field, the one that almost swallowed the village below. Head for the coastal road to Puerto de la Cruz! You will have dinner in a typical and colorful alley of the Muelle, and have a drink in the plaza del Charco.

Tenerife

Port de Los Cristianos.

Steps: Garachico

Explore the center of Puerto de la Cruz, the old port and its fishermen's quarter, and then take a dip in the Piscinas del Lago Martiánez - an oasis of water and tropical vegetation designed by the great Canarian artist César Manrique. Eat at a restaurant near the muelle. Take the coastal road toIcod de los Vinos to admire the magnificent thousand-year-old dragon tree visible from the town square. Continue towards Garachico, another village that deserves a short walk through the pedestrianized historic center. Then take the typical road of the Teno massif, passing by Buenaventura, and push on to the Teno lighthouse, at the western tip of the island. Take a short hike through the forest, and sleep in a typical rural house of the area.
