How to get there - Roseau
Arrival in the Caribbean
You arrive in Guadeloupe (or Martinique) where you may need to spend your first night. Beyond the lag (5 h in summer, 6 h in winter), you will have to get used to the temperature between 25 and 30 ° C. Choose accommodation located near the airport or port to limit your travel, the ideal area for this transit night being the Gosier.
Transfer to Dominica
Steps: La Plaine
It is the departure for the island of Dominica. Two possibilities, you opt for the plane and land at Douglas-Charles Airport 30 minutes later (about 1h30 from Portsmouth and 2h from Roseau by car). If you choose the boat, it takes about 2 hours to reach the port of Roseau. Many accommodations are available between Roseau and Portsmouth on the west coast and also between La Plaine and Calibishie for the eastern part. Take advantage of the rest of the day to find your way around and recover from jet lag, especially if you rent a vehicle (driving on the left requires a lot of concentration at first)! Otherwise, minibus services are very convenient and inexpensive.
From Scott's Head to Roseau
Steps: Roseau
Go down to Scott's Head Nature Reserve, which crosses many peaceful fishing districts. Enjoy an exploratory dive in one of the superb sites of the southern tip and/or discover whales and dolphins. Then go up to Roseau to admire the cathedral, the market square, the botanical garden... There are many catering points there.

Steps: Morne Trois-Pitons National Park
Direction Morne-Trois-Pitons National Park. Even if you're not much of a walker, you can't come to the island without some idea of its natural potential. TheEmerald Pool is very accessible and doesn't require you to be sporty. An equally easy-access path leads to the Trafalgar Falls, two waterfalls very close to each other. Between the falls and Roseau (at Wotten Waven), there are natural hot springs. The lunar landscape of Boiling Lake and Desolation Valley are worth the 3-hour walk.

North of the island
Steps: Pennville
Head north to discover the small villages of Pennville and Calibishie where you can swim and have lunch in one of the many restaurants on the beach. Then continue up to the Kalinago Territory. Some 3,500 indigenous people, descendants of the island's first inhabitants, still make their living from fishing, agriculture and handicrafts in this small 1,947 hectare territory, which was granted to them by the Crown of England in 1903, after a centuries-old conflict. It is possible to stay on site.
