How to get there - Anvers

Antwerp

La ville de Malines.

Steps: Anvers

In Antwerp, Flanders' largest city, museums and historical monuments are legion. You can also enjoy the many restaurants and lively nightlife. The old town, the Grand-Place and the many references to Rubens are a must for any self-respecting tourist.

Detour to Mechelen

Steps: Malines

If you have the time, drive on to Mechelen, a beautiful city on a human scale, home to many interesting monuments.

Day 3

Ghent, the beautiful Flemish city

Nowhere else in Belgium will you see so many historic and sumptuous buildings all in one place. Ideally, you should spend at least one evening there to enjoy the city's superb illuminations.

Day 4

Bruges, the Venice of the North

Balade à vélo dans les rues de Bruges.

Start the day by climbing the 366 steps of the belfry to the5th floor, where you'll be treated to a superb view, not to mention the treasury and other remnants of the tower, which are accessible from every floor. In the afternoon, take a mini-cruise on the canals to admire the bridges and the many houses bathed in water. In the evening, enjoy moules-frites in a typical restaurant or treat yourself to a fine dining experience! When it comes to gastronomy, Bruges has an array of excellent addresses.

Bruges and its culture

Cabanes de plage à Ostende.

Steps: Ostende

Visit the former St. John's Hospital andNotre-Dame Church, built in the 14th and 15th centuries in Scaldian Gothic style. In the afternoon, visit numerous museums to learn more about the country and the city: among others, the Gruuthuse, Groeninge (partially closed), Hospital and Memling museums, the Lace, Chocolate, French Fry and Diamond museums... If you have more time (or another weekend idea), opt for a day on the Belgian coast, the dunes and long sandy beaches ofOstend or Knokke, which will take you back to the Belle Époque.
