How to get there - Grand Case
Arrival/Rest
You arrive at Juliana airport on the Dutch side, west of Philipsburg and southwest of Marigot. You're overwhelmed by the tropical heat and exhausted by the journey. All you can think about is picking up your rental car and heading for your hotel! Once there, most of the time you don't even have the energy for dinner. But motivate yourself to have a drink with your feet in the sand in Grand Case or Simpson Bay, and nibble on some accras or tapas. Try to resist sleep a little (at least until 9 p.m.) so you don't wake up too early the next morning.
Swimming
Steps: Simpson Bay
You'll probably open your eyes around 5 or 6 o'clock in the morning. The brightness draws you outside. You can relax at your hotel, or start exploring one of the island's 37 beaches(Grand Case or Baie orientale are good starters). Don't forget to slather on the sunscreen. You can also start booking the water sports activities you're interested in (diving, kite surfing, boat trips, etc.) or getaways to the other islands. After a good shower, it's time to go out for a sunset drink and dinner in one of the island's many establishments (valid every evening of your stay). If you're a party-goer, you'll want to hit the beach at Grand Case, or the bars and nightclubs of Simspon Bay and Colebay (casinos and adult clubs can also be part of the program).

Discover Saint-Martin
Steps: Colombier
Early risers can take advantage of the cooler hours to stretch their legs with a short hike (Cul-de-Sac coastal path, Anse Marcel "chemin des froussards" or Pic Paradis). Those who prefer a thrill can try their hand at zip-lining on the Dutch side and then head for Philipsburg. Then relax on one of the beaches (perhaps a chance to try out one of the Terres Basses) or enjoy a water sports activity.
Places of interest : PIC PARADIS
Getaway to Anguilla or Saint-Barthélemy
Steps: Friar'S Bay
If you haven't taken an excursion to another island (Tintamare, Anguilla, Saint-Barth' or Saba) or gone out to sea on a catamaran, you can head for Friar's Bay and then walk twenty minutes along a path at the end of the beach to reachHappy Bay. Once you've had a swim and lazed on the sand, you can eat at Friar's Bay or even in Marigot, where you can follow up with a short shopping session. Or even continue with a jet ski outing from the Royal Marina.
Places of interest : PLAGE DE HAPPY BAY
Scuba diving
Steps: Îlet Pinel
There's a choice of two programs: a short boat trip to Pinel (or kayak), followed by lunch, swimming and lounging, and discovery of the islet and its iguanas. Or, for the more adventurous, head to the south of the island for a short hike to the natural pools.
Farniente and shopping
Steps: Maho Bay
You're a little ashamed of it, but the idea of seeing planes land in Maho appeals to you. Take the plunge (with caution) and take your selfie under the plane's belly in front of the beach. You can then marvel at the clarity of the water on Mullet beach, or head off the other way to discover the wilder aspects of the island, such as Lucas Bay or Galion beach and its ponds. Or push on to Oyster Pond.
