TOUR DE MONCALOU
A panoramic tower of 130 steps erected in 2008 next to the wine cellar of Domme with a breathtaking 360° view.
With its 130 steps and 23-metre height, the Moncalou panoramic tower offers a breathtaking 360° view. Erected in 2008, it overlooks the Céou and Dordogne valleys to the north, the rising hills of the Lot to the east, and the seductive, arid Quercy limestone plateaux to the south. No longer quite in Périgord Noir, but not yet in Quercy, it has taken its place in a frontier region once devoted to viticulture and sheep farming. Ideally located, the building is the starting point for several hikes, and houses both a restaurant and a vineyard.
