THE BAMBOUSAIE
Garden of bamboos, banana trees and exotic plants on 5 hectares: visit in high season (free or guided), and bar-restaurant.
This green setting spread over 5 hectares (of which 3.5 hectares are open to visitors) is well worth a visit. Guillaume Bergeret, a botanical enthusiast, decided to perpetuate the tradition of this exotic garden, which has existed for several generations, and to add his personal touch. You will discover more than 50 varieties of bamboos of all colors, a collection of banana trees, and many other exotic plants. This park is a real haven of peace, a Zen place that you can visit at your own pace. The Bamboo Grove can be visited freely, or accompanied by reservation only for more technical and botanical explanations. The guided night tours are limited to 40 people and are not free (they are more contemplative than explanatory). Reservations can be made on the website. The visit lasts about 1 hour and ends with a cocktail offered by your guide at the Bar de la Bambousaie. Indeed, in this enchanting green setting, a true hymn to nature, you will also find a bar, tea room and restaurant available to visitors for a snack, a drink, an aperitif, or simply to take a break before continuing your journey. As for rest, you can, whatever your age, stroll quietly in the cool and pleasant alleys. Several stone benches and dozens of chairs have been installed in the most suitable places. It is without a doubt a unique walk in Périgord, not to be missed!
