FONTAINE DES 3 ÉVÊQUES
A unique place on the banks of the Lémance, a fountain known as the 3 bishops' fountain located at the limit of the 3 dioceses and the 3 departments
Every year around Easter, the 3 bishops of Périgueux and Sarlat, Agen and Cahors sacrifice tradition by meeting at the fountain known as the Fountain of the 3 Bishops, located at the boundary of the 3 dioceses and 3 départements. Each remains within its respective territory. On the banks of the Lémance, a slab serves as a stepping stone to the fountain. It is thought to be the remains of a table where, since the 16th century, bishops would feast when they met. The site is unique, and offers a number of attractive walks in the surrounding area.
