The Grotte de Bernifal, discovered in 1898 by abbot Breuil, a bit spared by great tourist flows, is full of treasures. It maintained it's original aspect, which is still quite similar to the one  prehistoric men must have known. The one hour visit leads to the lamp and its dynamo. It gives a feeling of exploration and authenticity. The cave houses 110 engravings and paintings of animals, hands, signs of human figurations, due to the magdalenian, spread in each of the three rooms connected by narrow passages. A dozen figures, including the engraved star or the designed shelter, can be found only in Bernifal.

Away from the areas overcrowded of prehistoric sites for most survendues, enjoy a totally unusual visit accompanied by owner, Mr Pémendrant, this cave located in Meyrals. A place rich and steeped in history. Essential for lovers of tourism off the beaten track!
amazing cave, visit the flashlight by the friendly owner when the group is eco-friendly (I made 2 tours, super as good group, the other less better because the group was disrespectful). the portrait of woman is exceptional (I did not see it that the first visit). this cave is jewellery and is worth a visit. You should be patient to get there and not take too small children because it is a visit in darkness which can scare and spoil the visit of the group.
The cave of Bernifal is interesting to visit because it has many inscriptions (horses, bison, bears, deer tribe...)including a portrait of woman completely surprising. It is unfortunately a very old guide however that allows you himself play his nephew, guide also in front of visitors and who can pass remarks unpleasant to tourists!
