MAISON DU BAYLE
The Maison du Bayle, the only vestige of an unfinished arcaded square, is now a listed building and guest house.
Located in Molières, the Maison du Bayle is the only vestige of the arcaded square that should have been here, but was never completed. Also known as the porch, it once housed stores. On the east side, traces of two 14th-century arches can still be seen. Listed as a Monument Historique, the Maison du Bayle takes its name from the King's representative in the bastide in the Middle Ages. It was built at the end of the 13th century by Jean de Grailly, King Edward I's seneschal, and is now a guest house.
