COULONGES CASTLE
Take the opportunity to visit a preserved medieval castle right next to the Lascaux caves and the Vézère valley.
The Château de Coulonges is a feudal castle dating from before the 13th century, with its corner towers, surrounding walls, a covered way and moats. The buildings form a compact block welded to the towers, combining the robustness of the medieval military arsenal with the splendor of the seigneurial residence that it became in the 16th and 17th centuries. After a restoration work carried out under the aegis of the Bâtiments de France, the castle is finally open to the visit which lasts between 20 and 25 minutes per group of 6 to 7 people for safety reasons.
