LE CLIN D'OEIL
Address with terrace serving a reduced menu of local and homemade products, vegetarian dishes and a burger.
The room, decorated with mirrors and beige tones, provides a soft setting. At first sunshine, the terrace is ideal, located just a stone's throw from the busy Place Saint-Louis and already quiet, at the crossroads of the cobbled streets of old Périgueux, this is an almost private square. The young Périgourdin returned to his homeland and his ideas are flowing. In the kitchen, Nicolas opted for local products, with a small menu, but authentically homemade even the bread. We recommend the Plateau périgourdin which is a dish in itself: semi-cooked foie gras, homemade duck leg confit, slices of duck breast dried in coarse salt, pan-fried Sarladaise and green salad with Perigord walnuts. We also like vegetarian lasagne. The burger - especially the Duck Burger with pan-fried foie gras - is the star. For dessert, a Perigord apple and walnut moelleux with caramel ice-cream or a brioche perdue with homemade strawberry coulis will compete with the timeless gourmet coffee, the ideal condiment for indecisive gourmands. The meal can be accompanied by a glass from the wine list, which changes every month. Above all, remember to book, it is very often full.
