Restaurant with terrace in Périgueux offering a house specialty: COCOTTE eggs, with a wide choice on the slate.

This is a charming establishment with a sixties decor, embellished with toys from the same era. The cuisine is bistro-oriented, and the œuf cocotte is a house specialty, e.g. œuf cocotte camembert and smoked duck breast, but the slate offers a wide choice, e.g. andouillette fermière, bavette d'Aloyau and well-made burgers. Desserts include apple tart, vanilla ice cream and rice pudding with caramel fleur de sel. The restaurant pulls out all the stops in the tourist season, thanks to its location and large, busy terrace.

The gendarmes serve… A shame, don't upset the boss. He'll show you his true face. The customer is not the king here, station to you! We entered this small, friendly restaurant and attractive prices. We were in a very good mood and ready for a good time. The aperitif is going well and we're ordering three entries, the waitress is super nice and we say we've done well here. But the entries arrive, neck of stuffed goose and very hard rillings, egg sprouts without taste… (We're in the Périgord, I say, and logically the products are incredible! ) But it's not serious! We stumbled on a tourist trap, we won't let ourselves be depressed, but it's the game! Except that the foie gras is unmanageable, we're forced to spit it out because it's turned. So I ask the boss if it's normal, maybe I'm the one who has the dysfunctional palace after all. The boss eats his fat liver and tells me he doesn't pique, it's a homemade liver liver that's why I don't know… He tells me I need to be used to the foie gras in the box… that's for it. Now I understand at once that the boss is not a nice guy and if I don't let me do it, it's going to hurt. Except that I am from the Périgord and I know the good foie gras (no need to be Périgord elsewhere). I also do my foie gras at Christmas and besides it's not because you make your homemade liver that it is good. Everything depends mostly on your raw material and secondly on your talent. Even so, I smile and get another fatty liver plate. This time it is mannerable but as bad as the other entries. Well, the boss is making an effort, but he's not going to admit that he's selling junk, I understand. Are we going to eat? We're here for a good time… Except that behind me people are reluctant to take the foie gras, I tell them to avoid, that it is disgusting, they can taste mine… The young waiter, who was there, will immediately repeat that to the boss and there he loses control of his body. He gets furax, very nervous, threatening his finger, he enchings intimidations and nonsense "Must not play this game with me" "attention to you" (You threaten me or I dream? ) "You have no right to say that my foie gras is disgusting" (there is a law that says this?) "Attention to you" (you calm down Mr.) "I'm not nervous me, I do boxing me" (I'm not sure?) "I see you laugh since you arrived" (and then? We were just happy) "I get up early in the morning" (agree sir, we'll stay there no?) What to do? We have no right to express our opinion to our table neighbors? I understand it bothers, but from there to react like this, being on the defensive like that shows me that he's not serene. Of course we have to eat… and shut up is a little bit of the law nowadays… We lost the appetite, the boss threatened us so we said we're not welcome here. It's time to leave. I stand up and propose to settle the aperitifs and wine and leave. He tells me I have to pay the entries too if I haven't eaten them. I refuse to see that he cut my appetite. He's calling the gendarmes. Well, we'll wait for the constables. The gendarmes arrived and were amused by the situation. We have to settle the note and bring a complaint against him if we want… but they tell us that it won't go far enough because the kids who steal cars are not worried… I'm amazed, but all I can do is make a comment on the net. I strongly advise you that restaurant. Otherwise, you don't eat expensive and not good. So don't bother the quality of the products, you're warned.
