SAINT-ETIENNE-DE-LA-CITÉ CHURCH
This church has benefited from a vast campaign of restoration of all the exterior facades and part of the roofs
The church of Saint-Etienne was the cathedral of Périgueux until 1669. Erected in the ancient Gallo-Roman city, its construction began at the end of the 11th century and was completed in the middle of the 12th century. Three quarters of the cathedral were slaughtered by the Huguenots in 1577. Two west bays, covered with domes, have disappeared, as well as the bell-tower-porch. The church has benefited from a vast restoration campaign of all the external facades and part of the roofs.
