CHURCH OF SAINT MARTIN
Discover the impressive church of Saint-Martin and its transformation over the centuries, now an architectural treasure.
The church of Saint-Martin is the fruit of an eventful history that began in the 12th century. Ruined by the Wars of Religion, sold after the Revolution, it became in turn a store, a horse post office and a car garage. Its present-day architecture is the work of Alexandre Antoine Lambert (1836-1919), who supervised the work of Paul Abadie, architect and restorer of Saint-Front Cathedral. Its chevet features stained glass windows depicting Christ, Saint Peter and Saint Paul, created in 1899 by Henri Feur. Its two bell towers with lanterns surround its large porch.
