VILLA MAURESQUE
The façade of the Villa Mauresque, adorned with a dome, is of oriental architecture: original! The interior is not open to the public.
It would be simplistic to sum up the capital of Périgord as Saint-Front Cathedral. Just look up and you'll discover other gems! The Villa Mauresque, topped by its dome, is one of them. Built in the 1860s, its typically oriental architecture sets it apart from the rest of the Périgord. Look out for its symbols: the crescent, the Jewish cross and the sun. Between 1939 and 1940, it housed the Sainte-Odile hostel, where Alsatian refugees came to eat and relax. The interior is not open to the public.
