LA GRANDE POSTE
Paul Cocula, architect of the Historical Monuments and the Department in Périgueux from 1902 to 1944
Paul Cocula (1902-1944) was an architect of the Monuments Historiques and of the Department, member of the Council of the Order of Architects for the region of Bordeaux, he received in 1935, the prize of the French Society of Urbanism for his plan of embellishment of Périgueux. He built both public and private buildings. We owe him in particular his own residence at 17 rue Bodin, the Palace theatre, the Banque de France building and the sumptuous building of the Hôtel des Postes in 1930. You can admire its magnificent slate-covered dome.
