MAISON DU PÂTISSIER
This late Franconi residence features a corner terrace with a square domed roof in Périgueux.
Classified as a historic monument in 1902, the house bears the Latin inscription "Construction de la maison en l'an du Seigneur 1518 par la grâce du Très-Haut" ("Construction of the house in the year of the Lord 1518 by the grace of the Most High"). At the end of the 19th century, it belonged to the confectioner Franconi, then to Pascal Tenant (hence its other names, Maison Franconi or Maison Tenant). Dazzling with its high turret, its corner terrace adorned with a square domed roof over the entrance overlooks a superb Renaissance portal. The façade combines Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and modern windows. The interior is not open to the public.
