This château was built by Pierre de Bourdeille: open to visitors only in summer, it contains the tomb of the famous author.

Built by Pierre de Bourdeille between 1564 and 1581, this château cost the princely sum of 20,000 écus. The author of Les Dames Galantes died here in 1614: he remains in the crypt of the Gothic-style chapel, where his epitaph, written by himself, can be read. The dwelling is laid out as a square, crowned with machicolations and crenellated. It features mullioned windows, a double staircase and an elegant portal with a rounded pediment supported by pilasters, all set between two mullioned windows. Only open in summer!
