CHÂTEAU DE ST GERMAIN DU SALEMBRE
Castle with moat and drawbridge, consisting of two red-brick buildings built on a rocky outcrop: astonishing!
At the central crossroads of the Salembre valley, you'll find the Château de Saint-Germain du Salembre, listed on the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques. Built on the site of an ancient Gallo-Roman villa, the present-day château is a former 13th-century fortified castle, with an emblematic medieval dike on a Gallo-Roman invert. The only winner of the first Mission Bern in 2018, it can be visited during special events such as the Journées du patrimoine.
