CAMPING WAKAN TANKA * *
Wakan Tanka is the name of a family campsite of a modest dimension, run by Dutch and located in the centre of the Parc Naturel Régional of Périgord-Limousin. Fifty place ensure peace, space and lots of entertainment. Next to the traditional location, there are big tents, bungalows, two apartments (4 to 8 people), safari tents and tipis from 4 to 5 people. The latter are inspired by the life of the Redskins of the Lacota tribe. A large tipi is even equipped with bar where apart from the sale of drinks, you can buy takeaway dishes or enjoy a meal. Various activities are offered to the guests during the summer evenings: a bonfire on which children toast bread or marshmallows, French barbecue evenings taking place on the terrace. During the day, the children play a game of real Indians with arrows, bows and dream catcher. The afternoon is reserved for more sportive group activities in the vicinity of the campsite, supervised by the entertainment staff (who speaks French, English and Dutch). Canoeing, horseback riding, bison farm visit or tree climbing in an adventure park. In the evening, stories about Indian culture are told by the owners of the campsite. Pilgrims on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostela are welcome.
