Sarlat station, built in 1882, is the terminus of the Libourne-Bergerac-Sarlat line. The railway line runs along the Dordogne valley, past some of the area's finest châteaux, including Castelnaud, Beynac and Les Milandes. A gastronomic train once ran between Bergerac and Sarlat, allowing passengers to enjoy the 69 km journey while admiring the scenery and savoring the local gastronomy. At present, the journey between Sarlat and Bordeaux takes around 2 hours 30 minutes, and there are 6 trains a day.
