CORKSCREW - THE GREAT CROHOT
Lège is the administrative capital of the peninsula and the first of this long entanglement of small towns. Its position opens south on the villages of the peninsula, west on the municipalities of the Arcachon basin (Arès, Andernos) and north on Médoc Atlantique (Le Porge, Lacanau, Carcans-Maubuisson). The famous Grand Crohot beach continues to delight lovers of nature. To see: the forest house on the right between Lège and Claouey, on the D 106, which will give you an idea of how far the ocean was in Roman times, when the peninsula did not exist yet. The Etangs Canal, which flows into the Arcachon basin after connecting lakes and ponds, offers beautiful colors to see in the north of the Bredouille Bridge. The name of the city of Lège could come from the cores of which there are still specimens.
