Friendly and welcoming terrace restaurant offering a brasserie-style menu in Saint-Émilion.

This warm and friendly restaurant offers a lunch formula during the week and three menus, including one for children. The brasserie-style menu and the suggestions on the slate are always at a good price. The menus are copious and the dishes tasty. Le Médiéval is open all day and offers sweet and savory breaks at any time: sandwiches, quiches, croque-monsieur, salads, waffles, pancakes and ice creams. The sunny terrace is very pleasant. With 3 specific menus, groups up to 100 guests are welcome.

Food wasn't as good as last time we visited. The cheese omelet had very little to no cheese. The staff were a bit rude when asked about the lack of cheese.

In short - avoid if you like good food.
Ordered:
Entrecote steak
Duck
Coq au Vin
Duck breast cut into strips, overcooked yet managed to not render the fat, impressively bad.
Steak - fine, just undercooked. Bordelaise sauce below average.
Coq au Vin - Poor. Flavour and textures all wrong.
Service - borderline hostile (bar 1 member who was nice).
Can't recommend.

I'm sorry but this was not such a good experience, the waitress was very very rude! We were fifteen and spent alot of money! I am a french speaker and I found her attitude inappropriate and offensive!

Endroit très chaleureux et sympathique si vous voulez passez une soirée calme et très agréable. Cuisine généreuse et locale. Très bonne ambiance un merci tout particulier à Fabrice qui a su se montrer très sympathique et beaucoup d’humour comme tout le reste de l’équipe je vous le recommande chaudement.

We arrived at this restaurant to be grunted at by the front woman! We had decided to eat there but were shown a squatty corner table on the terrace immediately next to the entrance/ road!
We soon decided to change our plans & return to the square for a friendly welcome that is respectful!
The toilet was the most old fashioned we have seen for many years throughout France!
