CHATEAU LA CLOTTE
Château la Clotte is a winery located in Bergat, in the town of Saint-Émilion. Founded in 1800, it is part of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. The vineyard covers an area of 4 hectares, with clay-limestone soils. The grape varieties grown are mainly Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in stainless steel vats. Barrels are used for ageing, with 80% new barrels and 20% barrels used for one or more wines. Château la Clotte produces an average of 10,000 bottles a year, or 80 hectolitres. Its wines are sold in Canada, the United States, Hong Kong and Japan.
