This former city hall has transformed into a charming little theater which offers a diverse, quality program each season. Inaugurated on September 21, 1901, after 15 years of work, the building was renamed Aimé Césaire, following the death of the great writer in 2008, who had long been based within its walls. Its neoclassical style and its facade stamped with the city's coat of arms (laurel, crown, axe, and lictors' bundle) are the pride of the Martinique people.
