LOKAL LIFE
Lokal Life is a collective that gives the citizens of Martinique the opportunity to come together to change their consumption habits (consume healthy local products, reduce waste, encourage the circular economy), so that everyone acts at his or her own level in favour of the ecological and civic transition. The values of the collective are: the spirit of mutual aid, benevolence, freedom of expression and holacracy, a horizontal mode of governance. Each participant is free to propose projects and take responsibility for them. In order to be able to carry out several actions at the same time, and to allow everyone to get involved in areas they like, the collective is organized in action circles or think tanks. The collective also organizes every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, in the courtyard of the presbytery of Redoute, "Ka'ba Péyi a", a market with zero chlordecone, zero synthetic pesticides, and zero waste. Its particularity lies in the way it works because it is co-managed by producers and consumers who have decided to stop consuming passively without questioning the quality, origin or production method of the food they buy. The collective meets on the first Tuesday of each month during the "Monthly Meetings".
