France's first ecomuseum dedicated to walnuts, where you can watch the oil being pressed in the traditional mill.
It's the first Écomusée in France devoted to walnuts, and it presents every facet of the nut: origins, history, work, walnut cultivation in Périgord and walnut varieties, right up to the carving of this species of wood! The tour lasts around 45 minutes, beginning with a film on harvesting, enoisage, oil production, tree removal and walnut wood carving. In two other rooms, you'll discover how the walnut tree blooms, and the historical development of this crop in the local landscape.
