EGLISE DE CÉNAC
Go there and contact
In the heart of the village of Cénac and on the road to Compostela, this Romanesque church of the century has preserved beautiful sculptures.
Largely restored and modified at the beginning of the 20th century, the Romanesque church of Cénac has preserved beautiful sculptures reminiscent of those of Moissac. Outside as well as inside, magnificent capitals and sculpted modillions have been miraculously preserved in spite of the destruction caused by the wars of religion. They represent one of the most beautiful collections of Romanesque animals in the Périgord. An advice, slip into the cemetery and observe attentively the sculptures of the apse: a wise eye will unearth some daring representations!
