How to get there - Kuala Lumpur
From Kuala Lumpur to Malacca

As soon as you arrive in Kuala Lumpur, head straight for Malacca, just a two-hour drive to the south. More picturesque and less crowded, Malacca offers a gentle acclimatization to local temperatures. Stroll through the narrow streets of Chinatown and indulge in Nyonya cuisine, a delicious blend of Malay and Chinese flavors.

On this new day in Malacca, visit the main sites of interest, such as Christ Church or the Stadthuys. Try a cruise on the Sungai Melaka, for a glimpse of the surrounding kampungs, with several beautiful shophouses. Have lunch on site and enjoy the charms of the city, before returning to Kuala Lumpur in the late afternoon. Once you've settled in, enjoy dinner at Jalan Alor.

For early risers, you can pick up your ticket for the SkyBridge at Petronas Towers. Alternatively, start your visit to KL with Chinatown and the Colonial Quarter. Several temples, both Chinese and Hindu, are worth a visit in Chinatown. Heading towards the colonial district, the Central Market is a must for a shopping spree. Further afield, the superb Masjid Jamek can be visited at certain times, and the padang at Merdeka Square offers a fine view of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. If you still have time, visit the fascinating Museum of Islamic Art or Bird Park, with the world's largest aviary. Evening on the Bintang Walk.

From Batu Caves to Cameron Highlands
Steps: Tanah Rata
In the morning, explore the Batu Caves outside Kuala Lumpur. An exceptional site where the annual Hindu festival of Thaipusam takes place. Return to Kuala Lumpur for lunch, then departure for the Cameron Highlands by bus. Arrival late afternoon. Walk to Tanah Rata and dinner.
Cameron Highlands
Visit the Boh Tea plantation. Stroll among the tea plants and enjoy British cuisine at the Smokehouse restaurant. Back on Tanah Rata, follow the hiking trails for a glimpse of the Perak jungle, where Jim Thompson, the American silk baron, disappeared without a trace. Another night on site to enjoy the high altitude air.
Penang and Georgetown

Morning departure for Penang and Georgetown. Choose to stay in the old quarter of Georgetown, close to the Heritage Trail. Stroll past monuments, art galleries and shophouses, each more picturesque than the last. Lunch and dinner in the local style, including some excellent Chinese restaurants.
From Penang to Langkawi

Visit the superb Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and lunch at New World Park, for a taste of Penang's hawker cuisine. Afternoon departure for Langkawi Island. Laze by the beach in the evening.
