Celebration of Atatürk, youth and sports. It commemorates the arrival of the independence troops and the Atatürk declaration in 1919. Parades are organized in all cities, mainly in Istanbul.

" Karagöz "is the name given to a traditional Turkish art, the shadows theater. It is also the name given to one of the characters (gypsy) of the same art. The art of Karagöz would have emerged during the sixteenth century in the Ottoman Empire and was highly solicited from the xviie until the beginning of the twentieth century. Every year, the Istanbul Puppets Festival (Kukla Festivalı) honors him with thirty performances in different places in the city.

A theater festival that brings together troupes from all over Europe to perform in a dozen theaters. There are more than 78 performances with workshops, meetings and conferences and it takes place on both continents in more than twenty halls. The Istanbul International Tango Festival offers a wide choice of concerts, shows and dance classes. It's an opportunity to discover tango in all its forms, accompanied by great orchestras. With classes specially designed for the festival by the maestros, from beginners to advanced, there's something for everyone.
