The 10th arrondissement located in Paris on the right bank, is a very popular district, less touristy than the average of the Parisian arrondissements, but with a large number of shops and restaurants. However, the 10th arrondissement is also known for its very pleasant Canal Saint Martin where joggers, walkers and cyclists can enjoy themselves. It is especially busy on sunny days when it is possible to have a drink on one of the many terraces. Besides, the 10th arrondissement has many other remarkable sites: the Gare de l'est, the Porte Saint Martin which marks the border with the 3rd arrondissement, the rue du Faubourg Saint Denis and the various Indian restaurants. Finally, the 10th arrondissement is home to numerous shops with very affordable prices as well as restaurants offering French or world cuisine at really fair prices, not to mention the many 2 to 3 star hotels accessible to all budgets.

What to visit Paris?

When to go to Paris?

It goes without saying that Paris is alive all year round, but if you're aiming for a particular activity or event, you'll need to choose your time of year. Here are some tips on when to visit Paris.

High tourist season: from May to September, tourists flock in great numbers. This is when the weather is the best and many festivals and events take place, such as Roland Garros or the Fête de la Musique. Note that in August, Parisians desert the city to go on vacation, which gives a strange atmosphere. Many shops are closed and only the tourist centers are animated. The Christmas period is also very popular, especially for the illuminations and the animated windows of the department stores.

Mid-season: in October-November and from March to April, tourism slows down slightly, but not the number of visitors. Indeed, Paris is a dense city and there are almost always people in the transport and in the attractions.

Low tourist season: there is not really one, except in January and February, when hotel rates drop slightly. Paris attracts tourists all the time!

The climate of Paris is of a degraded oceanic type since it is influenced by the continent. Temperatures are relatively mild with frequent rainfall in all seasons. The hottest temperatures are recorded in July and August, and the coldest in January. The high urbanization of the city results in a slight temperature increase (about 2°C) compared to the rest of the northern half of the country.
