The 9th arrondissement located in Paris on the right bank, is both a popular and touristic district with unmissable visits for tourists such as the Garnier Opera House and its magnificent architecture or the Grands Boulevards with its large number of shops and restaurants. But the 9th arrondissement is also a trendy arrondissement thanks to Pigalle where trendy bars and restaurants sprout up. The old bad neighbourhood of Paris is indeed experiencing a real revival so much so that it has been named 'South Pigalle', or SoPi. The 9th arrondissement has also many other remarkable sites: the very refined Hotel Drouot, the Musée de la Vie Romantique, or the Gustave Moreau Museum. Finally, the 9th arrondissement has also various shops offering low prices as well as French and world cuisine restaurants at affordable prices. Without a doubt, the 9th arrondissement is a district that has much to offer visitors.

What to visit Paris?

When to go to Paris?

It goes without saying that Paris is alive all year round, but if you're aiming for a particular activity or event, you'll need to choose your time of year. Here are some tips on when to visit Paris.

High tourist season: from May to September, tourists flock in great numbers. This is when the weather is the best and many festivals and events take place, such as Roland Garros or the Fête de la Musique. Note that in August, Parisians desert the city to go on vacation, which gives a strange atmosphere. Many shops are closed and only the tourist centers are animated. The Christmas period is also very popular, especially for the illuminations and the animated windows of the department stores.

Mid-season: in October-November and from March to April, tourism slows down slightly, but not the number of visitors. Indeed, Paris is a dense city and there are almost always people in the transport and in the attractions.

Low tourist season: there is not really one, except in January and February, when hotel rates drop slightly. Paris attracts tourists all the time!

Weather all year round

The climate of Paris is of a degraded oceanic type since it is influenced by the continent. Temperatures are relatively mild with frequent rainfall in all seasons. The hottest temperatures are recorded in July and August, and the coldest in January. The high urbanization of the city results in a slight temperature increase (about 2°C) compared to the rest of the northern half of the country.
