Stay : A short week discovering the Spanish Basque Country
This tour allows you to appreciate the region's cultural heritage and learn about Basque history, from the indigenous tribes to the present day. The first three days are devoted to the province of Guipúzcoa, following the coastal route to Santiago de Compostela. Days 4 and 5 are devoted to the Vizcaya coast. The sixth day finishes in Alava, inland.

Day 1: Irun and Fontarrabia
Steps: Irún
Oiasso Roman Museum, Santa Elena hermitage, Cap du Figuier. These sites tell of the ocean's influence on local culture at various periods in European history.
Day 2: San Sebastián
Steps: San Sebastián - Donostia
You can't visit the Basque Country without stopping off in San Sebastián, to see its Monte Igueldo, its San Telmo museum dedicated to the history of the Basque Country, the gardens of the Miramar palace, former summer residence of Spanish kings, its Concha beach and port.
Day 3: Azpeitia
Steps: Azpeitia
VisitAzpeitia, the San Ignacio de Loyola sanctuary and the Ferrocarril museum. A day in the interior of the Basque Country, where you'll discover the local spiritual heritage and industrial genius.
Day 4: Lekeitio and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe
Steps: Baquio - Bakio, Lekeitio, Zumaia
An encounter with the grandeur of the elements. Picturesque village of Lekeitio, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe peninsula, rasa mareal and flysch cliffs. A succession of unusual and exceptional natural sites by the ocean. For nature lovers, it's the most wonderful stage of this journey.
Day 5: Bilbao
Steps: Bilbao
Tradition and modernity in Bilbao. The inevitable Guggenheim Museum and its unique architecture, a visit to the city and its neighborhoods, a tour of the pintxos bars, in a very urban atmosphere.

Day 6: Vitoria
Steps: Vitoria-Gasteiz
Cultural day in Vitoria. The capital of the province of Alava boasts an astonishingly eclectic range of museums, from card games to contemporary art, archaeology, armory and fine arts... A final stop full of discoveries and surprises.
