How to get there - Bridgetown
Arrival in Barbados
Steps: Rockley
Arrive at your accommodation and take your first steps in Barbados. Head for the nearest beach: Carlisle Bay if you're near Bridgetown, Rockley (south coast) or Mullins Beach (northwest) to get into the mood and taste your first rum punch.

Discover Bridgetown

Early in the morning, explore downtown Bridgetown at your leisure: Careenage, National Heroes Square, St. Michael's Cathedral, the synagogue district, or on a guided tour, following the gastronomic thread with Lickrish Tour or with Claudette from Discover Heritage for the historical side. In the late morning, head for the area around The Garrison, including the George Washington House. Enjoy lunch in the café before continuing to Garrison Savannah Racecourse, admiring the guardhouse and barracks before heading to the Barbados Museum. Before sunset, stroll along the Richard Haynes Boardwalk between Hastings and Rockley. Dine at one of the beachside restaurants (Tapas, Salt or Champers).

The island's interior
Steps: Gun Hill
Take the road to the island's interior. Get an early start to enjoy the cool morning air. After a short stop to say hello to the Gun Hill lion, be at the opening of Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park to be among the first to visit the caves. A stone's throw away, enjoy the coolness of Welchman Hall Gully and its lush vegetation before heading to Flower Forest Gardens. Enjoy a late lunch at its café. After the garden tour, round off your discoveries with a stroll through the delightful Hunte's Garden, where classical music accompanies you among the plants. After a long day, enjoy a leisurely meal at the Worthing Square Food Court.

St. Nicholas Abbey and east coast
Steps: Bathsheba
Head north to St. Nicholas Abbey and its steam train. Discover the house and distillery before boarding the train and admiring the view from Cherry Tree Hill. Head back south to Bathsheba, with its Soup Bowl surfers, beach and strange rock formations. Enjoy a bite to eat at The Round House before heading to theAndromeda Botanical Garden. End the afternoon at Crane Beach or Bottom Bay for a moment of relaxation.

The Platinum Coast and Mount Gay

The Platinum Coast beckons! In the morning, stop off at Folkestone Marine Park for some snorkeling. Once you've dried off, take time for a shopping stop in town at the Limegrove Centre and/or Chattel Village, not forgetting to salute the obelisk symbolizing the arrival of the very first British settlers in Barbados. In the afternoon, visit the Mount Gay distillery before joining Speightstown for an aperitif. Refresh yourself at the Fisherman's Pub, but take time to wander the streets of this historic town. In the evening, head to Oistins for its famous Fish Fry.

Steps: Saint Lawrence Gap
In the morning, take a half-day catamaran trip before doing your last shopping for souvenirs at Pelican Craft Village and Cheapside Market in Bridgetown and a final evening at St. Lawrence Gap.
