Inland, Strasbourg has a semi-continental climate that varies according to the season. Winters are cold with frosts, fog, mist and an average temperature of 3°C and can drop to -10°C. Strasbourg is the snowiest low-lying city in France. Summers are hot with an average temperature of 20°C, reaching up to 38°C, and some heat storms. The city is not very windy and not very rainy.
